I would like to update my 3rd PC's graphics card - mid-end gaming/general purpose.

The other two PCs have a 9800 Pro and TI 4600 respectively, both 128, both AGP.

I've seen some good pricing on cards like the 5200 FX (256MB) and some older ATI card's.

I've looked at lots of web reviews but they are only as good as the drivers that were used at the time.

Anyone happy with some of the mid-end cards and what would u recommend. Does 256 make a diff?

256 won't make that much of a difference yet, but when all of the new games (HL2, Doom3 and others) come out they 265 will make much more of a difference. I have the 5200FX and I haven't had any issues with it at all.

I have the 128mb Fx5700 in one machine and the fx5900 ultra 256 in another, never had any problems with them in any games or 3d ap. or photoshop great alround cards.

but as noted drivers make the big difference,

One of the best cards out there (it's outperforming all others in its class) is the Powercolor ATi Radeon 9600 XT Bravo...phenomenal bench test scores.

they say that the costs of the radeonX800 will not be all that bad... and it looks like a hog.
