Hi,

For my co-op I am designing their website. I have the website up and running but i am having a problem.

The menu my supervisor i am unable to do. Due to my lack of Javascript knowledge. (none)

He wants a floating menu. similar to the gliding nature of this menu http://dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex1/staticmenu.htm

but it needs to be multi level. (mouseover opens up to reveal the submenu)

and despite hours of searching i have been unable to locate a code to meet my needs and do not have the ability to create the script on my own.

Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

The site is WWW.EVENTCITY.CA (just a temporary link until it is moved to its permenet position)

I am sorry to say that the reason you cannot find one to suit your needs is because this is the type of menu system I and others actually get paid for.
Maybe I'll have a stab at something simple...

before I go any further: is this what you want? Does it function as you imagined? Did it work on 'your' browser? Can you see where to add links?

If you answered no to any of these questions then I'll not proceed. There are many more fun things to do other than make another damn menu.

Are you sure your supervisor would not like some mandelbrots? Maybe some rotating balls or maybe plasma?

You actually get paid for that!? No offence, but loads more far more impressive scripts are posted all the time on here...

wrayal:

While I have to say that Virbatem's menu has a few functionality problems, let's not forget that it isn't very often you use things like Ray Tracers and such in a commercial site.

I'm usually paid to do form validation, pop up new windows, and make custom navigation. Not real flashy, not terribly complex, but it pays the bills and the website won't function without it. There is nothing wrong with a little bluecollar coding.

It's a demo, a mock up, sample program. no, I'd never expect to get paid for it at all. yes it does flicker.

I think that sums it up. I was really tired when I wrote it and could not be bothered continuing until I knew it was what you were looking for.

Norm is spot on. I do all sorts of menial simple coding; additions to existing web pages. If I was a hole digger and you wanted a hole dug then I'd not really want to dig a hole for you free. likewise here, it's boring and not inventive. I was falling asleep writting the little script. but when faced with adding color to black and white XBM images, well I stayed awake for an extra six hours to play around!

Apocalyptic_rabbit, when you cannot find anything similar or it costs way too much then let me know and I may proceed to iron out the flicker. Or you could try to do it yourself.
