What a really nice photograph! I probably would have had to take the picture too. That shot is really well composed, and the sky behind is quite dramatic.

another cross depicting the savior as a pansy... Christ was a carpenter, for sake, that statue looks like he had bulemia...

As I understood it, Jesus fasted for 40 days just prior to the crucifixion. Anybody might look emaciated after over a month on minimal rations... Not to mention he travelled a great deal and surely regular food and drink was touch and go? It's probable, if nothing else.

well... I remember him fasting for 'forty days and forty nights' when the devil was trying to tempt him (Matthew, 4,1, King James Bible), but not before the crucification, which happend around passover (during which ,according to wikipedia only some foods are not eaten).

Anyhow, no time to dig further rigth now, and alas I'm not as familiar with the scripture as I'd like to be (especially not with the King James Bible, since the Luther Bible is way more common here in Germany (as is the catholic 'unity translation')
