Hello

Perhaps it exists and I didn't notice it...

Is there is a way to change the appearance of this website? Perhaps you can add a small functionality where one can select his preferred color theme.

I used to like the colors two years ago, but now I find them darkish.

use any modern browser which allows you to define your own stylesheet, like mozilla, firefox or opera.

Or turn up the gamma on your monitor ;-).

Seriously, it is a way better solution to adjust this at the client end.

I am not a designer, so I would rather see a set of themes from which I select something.

I use opera, can I specify a CSS for *only* a given website?!

O_o!

Ummm...huh? This color scheme belongs to the Asylum...why change what has worked, and is still working?? I think the solution that TP gave, is more than good enough...

Site specific user layouts in opera?

easily: see http://www.rdrop.com/~half/Creations/Writings/TechNotes/css.tip.2.html for the stylesheet, and http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum21/7602.htm for how it integrates with opera.

the id you'll need is 'www_ozenasylum_com' (without the quotes).

So long,

I would imagine all the trasnparent gifs would look dreadful if you just changed the stylesheet which means they'd all have to be redone, etc., etc.

Anyway its already been said - the colours are part of the Asylum.

yeah... btw, anyone has an idea how to implement that general design (div with menu at left, not spanning the full height, content div containing just about anything on the right) in CSS? I tried, I failed (a number of times), I replaced it by a two column, one row table.

I would love to be able to change the colors of this entire site to a blue/grey. I think Thaddeous Ozone should make a 'color selector' option with different color choices for the forums. That's what I think...

The Black Hat: Use a decent browser and customize the design of the Asylum by yourself. You can do it with either Mozilla Firefox or Opera.

I use FireFox but I don't know how to do what you are describing.

Simply edit the userChrome.css file in your profile. As mentionned in the help about Editing Configuration Files on texturizer. Per user request, Tyberius Prime have added an id to the HTML tag of the pages of the Asylum. That way, it's easy to create a CSS with a pattern selector to customize the aspect of the Asylum based on that id.

Myself I have added a :hover pseudo class to the TR ( to have a pointer to know which TD are in this TR, that's especially usefull on the QuickChanges page ) and customized a bit the [ CODE ] tags.

Or you can get some 'colour spectrum interchange goggles' from those guys at "Stargate" and your whole world will change colour. Alternatively you can get some cheapo ones from these guys..

see discussion:

QUOTATION: I've learned so much from my mistakes... that I'm thinking of making a few more.
