OK, I tried to search this issue, but either the searchwords are to general or I'm an complete idiot.

Anyway:
Most of the time when I right click on an image to see it's size, I get "not available" displayed at the size row. Same thing for creation and change date.
I can usually download the image, even though some times it tries to save it as a .BMP-file instead of GIF or JPG.

Not the biggest problem in the world, but it's bloody annoying

I'm running IE6.0 .2800 on a swedish (*shudder*) WinXP Home w SP2.

Have anyone of you encoutered this, or do you know how to fix it?
(Apart from running Firefox (which I also do) and reinstalling with a proper language OS)

Thanks

I don't have much IE experience, but maybe its IE reads width and height from the image tag, and its missing from those images.

If you download the image, if it picks bitmap, you should be able to use the drop down to at least pick the format it is on the website.

Just curious why you need this information, maybe there's another easier way.

I just opened this thread with IE, to test what you said on your sig, and it appeared right...

except: the created and last modified dates are today's dates. I know you had that sig longer than that...

I never noticed untill now, but firefox 0.9.2 doesn't by default show created/modified dates.

A lot of times when I use IE to save an image the only available option is bitmap. This seems to mostly be on sites such as those picture hosting sites. I believe the problem is the site sends the wrong content-type header. Although sometimes it happens on normal websites too, so that might not be the problem.

I seem to remember that mr.maX once mentioned clearing IE's cache as a fix for the BMP saving problem, so I'd give that a try.
But if the cache is in any way related to the image dimension info...
