i have a problem, i bought a amd athlon 3000+ processor and after installation my system is telling me that it is only a 2200+. i have been told to update my bios which is simple enough however, i have done some research on the bios updates available and have found a few people stating that the bios that is available is a dud, that it frys the motherboard. does anyone know where i can find a good update??

my specs are as follows:

CPU: AMD Athlon XP 3000+
MOTHERBOARD: L7S7A2 Socket A
BIOS DATE: 27/1/2003

anybody know if these problems are few and far between??? or another way to get the speed/ CPU settings corrected?? any help would be great

We have done so.
Now Tyberius Prime expects him to start complaining that we removed his 'free speech' since this message will replace all of his posts, past and future.

You have to manually set the frequency in your BIOS.

Goto AMD's website and check their knowledge base.
