I'm looking for professional virtual office software for my design studio. I've tried several virtual office applications such as dotProject and Group-Office. Both fail miserably. dotProject is far too complex and has a navigable interface optimized for techies yet is very stable. Group-Office has a wonderful interface, it's easy-to-use, simplistic, and would be excellent if it weren't ignorantly coded with bugs everywhere.

I'm looking for a virtual office Web application, preferably using PHP and MySQL, that has the useability of Group-Office and the stability of dotProject. Or reasonably priced (or free) desktop collaboration software. We need something that works and something that works well.

If you have any recommendations, commercial or free, please reply.

dotProject

Group-Office

Groove Virtual Office

It exceeds my wants but it's not cost-efficient for a small business. $229 per user.

Actually I've been using dotproject for a while and found it really good compared to any other I've used. Utilizing the admin features allows you to control much of the look and feel where you can strip out much of the uneeded clutter.

dotProject has a poorly designed user interface. It's very confusing (not to me) for people who haven't used apps like it or used dotProject for awhile.

I'm settling on Conflux Pro if my host meets the requirements. Conflux Pro is built with Python (!) like all good apps. It's free up to 5 users. $500 for 10. I'm limiting my company's creative staff to 5 people so it shouldn't be a problem upgrading when in need.
