good work on the alien shrimp lord, could use some more highlights in my (irrelevant) opinion though.

The bird would have made a pretty good logo/icon for the browser formerly known as Phoenix.
IMHO, the eyes lacks a bit of volume compared to the rest of the beasts. Adding an highlight ( and a shadow in the lower part of the bird's eye ) should help. But you probably wanted it that way
Whatever good job.

personally, when I look at the bird, I think that the talons could take a hike and the eye could go for being just an outline like the rest of it... just my .02

I love the alien-shrimp thing

keep up the good work

I like them both.

I'm not sure that the cartoon dead eye x works with the apocalypse bird. Try removing it and leaving the whole as an outline.

The alien shrimp seems to have a lighting problem. The light hitting the body is from the upper right but the refraction in the eye indicates the light is coming from the upper left. There are also jaggies on the inside of the fins and arround the eye.

I like them both, also.

The bird suffers from clutter, however. You have some filters, which look good, but the legs/claws, and especially the tail, look cramped. The tail feathers might also benefit from more of a "fan" design. Just a suggestion. The x-ed out eye is too complex, when compared to the bird. Maybe an x would work, but try not to make it take away from the rest of the image. IF you want to keep the yellow, which seems to be working, to an extent, maybe you could try removing the pixel-bevel?

The shrimp lord is great . But you could put some more work into the spikes on the back. They detract a little bit, as they are of lesser quality than the rest of the image.

Cheers.

Nice work EzRa-D. The Bird of the Apocalypse has that logo feel to it, and unless it is integral to the design brief, I think the eye "X" could be more understated.
The Armored Alien Shrimp Lord is a great design also but looks a little flat to me. It resembles a Nautilus and as such needs a more rounded look. I imagine you made this in a much larger version and shrunk it down, this is where the jaggies have really come through on the "fin spikes" around the outside. Have you tried roughing up the armoured shell a bit so it is not so smooth? This may help to give the appearance of depth (3Dness).
I'd like to take this opportunity to say how much I've enjoyed seeing all the different sigs you have been doing recently too. I guess you must have them on a rotator right? How many are in there now, some of the ones I have seen are really innovative and well executed.

just incase somebodys interested these are the original pencil sketches that these two things were based on
shrimp
bird

Tao: thanks! there are only a dozen sigs in my rotator, as not every sig i make makes the cut :/ but thanks for the compliment i put alot of work into every sig i guess thats my favorite thing to do besides the photomanip challenges (which i miss very much btw).

guess ill also take this opportunity to show off my newly redesigned personal webspace my 'playground' on the web --> http://www.damianezra.org

I like the shrimp. Anyone remember the old Darius video games? That is the first thing I was reminded of.

Wow, nice work

I like the armored alien shrimp lord - what a strange idea! But cool.
