what you really need is a primer in how to use google:

On top fo that, yo seem to need to slow down and learn the basics of Photoshop.

The two pages linked to at the bottom of every page here are about the best resources for doing so - Hands-On and The Gurus Network.

Check them out.

If you are confident in your ability to use the program, then a tutorial really shouldn't be necessary.

step 1) find images or real life examples of parchment.

step 2) observe them. No...*really* observe them.

step 3) apply your knowledge of the program to recreate the things you see.

And no, this isn't sarcasm. A great deal of the time, it really is that simple.

Especially in this case.

That's a disgustingly large interface, btw - and I'm on 1280x960 resolution.

It is rather large, but I like it. The flames one the inside of the large circle are a nice touch. Though, some of the chains seem a little blurry. Welcome aboard, timber. Try google as TP suggested. I have to ask, and please don't take offense, but if you are knowledgable enough to paint that interface why does parchment elude you?

Hmmm... actually you could apply the techinque that is explained at DG's Weathered Metal Tut on page 2.
quick 2 minute sloppy test here:

little bit of work with the burn tool and some tweaking you get the parchment effect.

Parchments very easy to make, I never use the clouds filter, I prefer the burn tool. Use it like the brush just set the exposure and the target from the options bar from time to time. Eventually you'll end up with something nice, just don't go over board!

To make the texture a little noise and a tinsy bit of blur.

If you want to make the torn up paper effect theres the lasso tool or the lazy way:

-- Select the transparency of the paper
-- Goto the Channels palette
-- Make a Channel and fill in the selection (white)
-- Deselect and go over to Filter-Pixelate-Crystallize
-- Set how much you want then select the transparecy of the channel
-- Back to the Layers palette and place a mask with that select over the paper

There you have a nice and believable torn parchment effect. Although I don't know how this can be the lazy way it be much much easier if you just used the lasso tool!

I posted something in a thread a few seconds ago, and I'll just link what I posted...

http://www.deviantart.com/view/10357510/

I did the paper by doing a clouds filter with a manilla color, then used a few grunge brushes on it, blurred slightly, translated, and used a grunge eraser. Then made a linked layer ontop and used a black tool to give the edges a burned look.

I know that game. I am signed to its German beta since.... 8 months? Dunno. When will it start? Well I created a torn cloth... to create paper you just have to change the cloth texture, but there are some ways described here already. I used some grain and then some other filters (I don't really remember anymore, I think some Halftone pattern for the cloth.) Well then I used the burn tool to burn the cloth. Some brushes and refining to create the holes and the burn tool again to burn around them. Then I used the curves layer to adjust the colors and so on. you know the story.

And by the way... you should be nicer to people who try to help.
