I have problems using the gifs from my Image Ready 7... I don't know why it makes them corrupt or whatever, but the windows image viewer cannot draw them (error). Windows 2003 cannot run the animation. How can I set some versions or compressions methods of gifs in IR? (for example, turning off the progressive compression and using image by image one) Anyone has this problem with the IR gifs? I am lost...

EDIT: under WinXP I can run the animation only in the IE. Under Win2003 the animation won't run for whatever reasons...

Try using a 3rd party image viewer, not the default Windows viewer.

Try IrfanView: www.irfanview.com .

There is nothing special or unusual about the Gifs that are made with IR.

But why the hell doesn't Windows 2003 run the animation???

Tell me if you can view this? Do you see the animation?:

I took your gif and tried to open it. sure enough it wouldn't open in windows, but I notice your animation frames are set to 'once' so I changed it to 'forever' and saved optimized and now it plays just fine in windows.
hope that helps

Nope no animation there for me. I have never used Win2003
So,,,,,when you make the animation in IR, can you preview it successfully in the prog?
What are the settings you are using for optimization?

You have to refresh maybe. If you see a smiley the animation has run... @ Tao

Yes that is the problem of IR, this one turn code. I have had always trouble with it... well anyway, I found out why it doesn't work in Win2003. The default option in Internet Options/Content is: Play Animations on Websites/unchecked. It also doesn't change when changing security settings... Well that means I gotta script the animation with java... (It'll be a good opportunity to start my father's book and learn something about it... oh well...)

Perhaps the better option to using bulky ol' java code would be... save out separate images/frames and compile them with Flash. A Flash ani should have no trouble playing on any machine/browser nowadays.

If you don't have flash, (download the demo), then i can throw them together for you if you like. It'll take all of a couple minutes. No biggy...
