Just thought I would bring this to the attention of the asylumnites,
Recently I watched a video on Nostradamus, where they stated that he prophecied not one but three antichrists. Now I know that a lot of people do not think Nost. too reliable but the video gave some very good evidence in favor of him so I think it is a worthy subject to bring up. One of the antichrists is believed to be Napolean, the other Hitler and the third is yet to come. (i will post the evidence of these at a later date). Then I was glancing around in the bible specifically at John 1 Chapter 4 versus 1-6 and John (the same guy who wrote Revelations) says that the antichrist (noncapitalized) is already among you. Then in Revelations he says the Antichrist shall come. So if there isn't more than one anitchrist how is he going to be here already and then come again without leaving? Does this and is Nostradamus suggesting that there is one head honcho antichrist and a bunch of Antichristlets running around? If he means the spirit of the devil (Gideon) why does he not just say the spirit of the devil as mentioned throughout the rest of the bible and in Revelation. If he is afraid to say the name of the devil (Lucifer the pissed of choir teacher) then it shows that he had at that time a severe lack of faith in the protection of his god. What is your oppinion on this?

I don't believe in the Anti-christ.

I believe, that humans have the propensity to be worse than any "anti-christ", as well as better than any "angel". History demonstrates this most accurately, I believe.

I agree with you and the fact that there is an antichrist(s) Just thought it would be an interesting religious debate THAT WOULD NOT TURN INTO A DEBATE ON WHETHER GOD EXISTS OR NOT. Noticed a tendency for things to switch to that somehow

If you're talking from a Biblical perspective, Paul refers to anyone who is against the message of the gospels as an antichrist. There is one, specific Antichrist in Revelation, but the are many antichrists all over.

yes Antichrist broken down as Anti meaning against and christ well you can figure that out would be sufficient in claiming there is more than one antichrist. However that could be technically be lots of people. What I and Nostradamus mean is there is more than one UNIQUE ANTICHRIST. Antichrist meaning the Devil's evil clone type being of Christ.

It is possibly easier to comprehend if you think of Lucifer as the Head Devil. He sends his spirit out to many, and tries to keep them from Chirst. I have gathered that he has an almost omnipotent form, but not quite. He is not nearly as powerful as God, but more powerful than us. If we a person can be veiwed by several millions of people at one time (TV), why can't the Devil do something even more powerful?

Also, Lucifer has many demon friends that used to be angels under his command. He could have a few that are "generals" or what not that are more powerful than the average demon. Maybe those were what Nost. was refering to?

Gideon i think you have hit upon something. As i have told you earlier I believe in the Trinity and the Unholy Trio. In the Holy Trinity there is GOD,SON, HOLY GHOST, and in the Unholy Trinity you have LUCIFER (/Satan/The Serpent..........), THE ANTICHRIST (EVIL EQUIVALENT OF JESUS), and Beleezebub. The multiple Antichrists that Nost. refers to are merely human manifestations of the Antichrist and/or Lucifer's Generals like when Christ came and Lucifer is trying to go for a quantity not quality plan. Then when revelations comes round to be true it will be the Antichrist in it's true form undiluted by human idiocies.

there is only ONE antichrist, he has already been here and he will come again. They antichrist was around just after Jesus' death (so this is the common beliefe) and he will come again at the apcolypse. John is correct cuz he wrote that after Jesus' death and then the antichrist left, expect him to come back just not in our life time. The devil gives all his power to the anitchrist and lets the antichrist go out and do his nasty bidding. you also need to realize sumthings
A) nostradums (SP?) was NOT a christian and this is a christian topic
B) revalations is the most compliated book to read and also has the best info ever on the antichrist and the end of the earth
C) i went to bible college and while iwas there i studied revelations very deeply.
D) the last book of the bible can be interpreted in three ways. so watch out
E) THere IS an unholy trinity and we must be careful. rite now the devil is just floating around this earth but once the time comes hes going to let out the others and then it will be hell on earth. ahh smart ppl here i like this

Where to go.

Don't you think we are already living the book of revelations?
From what I have understood about the book is to me the antichrist written in revelations is many things. In references to the churchs written about in revelations they symbolize power, greed, sins of the flesh, godlessness, etc, which are rampant today. Each one specifiy a sin and Gods judgement. God already came slaughtered like the lamb slain but standing. Slain but standing to me refers to victory over death. Would we agree the book of revelations was wriiten for us to see like an "unveiling"? For those who see what it refers to God has allowed to see.

Wheretogo, I would like to see what you see in each chapter in its meaning and then I would tell you what I see, since God allows us to see a message for ourselves if you want. I love the book of revelation myself and still could maybe see another insight to the same message. So it could be an ongoing topic if you want to start it. It dosen't have to be debated, just viewed and discussed.

E) THere IS an unholy trinity and we must be careful. rite now the devil is just floating around this earth but once the time comes hes going to let out the others and then it will be hell on earth. ahh smart ppl here i like this

In this I see almost the same view. A touch of Hell on earth is here for some already. But I do believe demons float the earth here already too and they are on a mission to snatch souls for their ruler. Looking at the way the world is going right now we must pray and hope for the power of God to overcome them.

Uh, no. Theologians have been preaching that every new generation. Everytime someone seems to read Revelations, inevitably comes the "Oh! We must be in those times now!" thought. And time and again, it gets proven to be incorrect. The world didn't end, life went on.

Revelations will not happen. It is just a fitting end to the Bible. You know, Creation -> the Faithful -> the End?

We have been living in the "last days" mentioned in John's revelation ever since the first century. The date of Christ's return is known only to God. It could be tomorrow or a million tomorrows from now.

Quite true Bugimus. (By the way, great to have you back!)

I agree with WebShaman that the Revelations hasn't happened yet, and it might not happen for a while. Jesus also said that you will know when the end is coming, like you can tell a storm is coming from the darkening sky. I have read many things from people who beleve that revelations is happening right now. They are all very well researched and very well thought out, but when I place them up against what the rest of the Bible says, then it isn't true. Mainly that a few key things don't happen.

I also think that Revelations is a hard book to crack since there is so much imagery and symbolism in it. It could mean so many different things, or exaclty what it says. Dragons, horse riders, etc. It is kinda confusing.

Wheretogo-I and I think Sangreal too would really appreciate if you post some knowledge about Revelations you have gotten from your studies. I think it would be most beneficial.

First off wheretogo: I don't know where you got your info that Nostradamus wasn't a christian, cause he was.
And second of all (saying he isn't a christian like you did) since he isn't a christian he can't have a comment about a christian belief? Ok well then since your not the president you cant vote. Also by your own admission in your first point "A. Nostradms (Sp?) was not a christian and this is a christian topic" also makes the implication that since Nost wasnt a christian (which he was) he his automatically wrong and you are right because you are a christian. That's the kind of religious bigotry that turn people a way from christ. Second of all are you of the impression that nost said there was no biblical anitchrist? He never really said that.

Here are 5 facts about antichrists

1) Antichrists are mentioned in the singular and plural form in the Bible
2) Antichrists are mentioned only 5 times in the Bible
3) Antichrists are mentioned in only 1 & 2 John (not 3 John, Book of John or Revelation)
4) Antichrists are those who deny Jesus is the Christ and came in the Flesh
5) Antichrists mentioned in John are those that have come out from true christians or are apart of this world, meaning they enjoy the lusts and desires of the world in opposition to God's revealed will to them.

The scriptures listed below are all that actually use the word antichrist(s) and if read carefully you will see that the antichrist is not really 1 person anymore than the body of Christ is 1 person ,but many. This labeling is not unussual for God on many ocassions clumps many persons into a singular name such as My Servant Isreal which was addressed to all Isrealites, Rahab referred to Egypt Etc.
THerefore, we can conclude that The Antichrist is comprised of all unbelievers who are said to be vessels of wrath, meant for desrtuction. These antichrists appeared after Jesus' assension and continued to snowball into a great avalanch of deceit and hatred against true christians in the 1st century all the way to our day. Here the Apostates, and false teachers of the Bible are the head of this antichrist spirit which the Son of God with the sword that proceeds from his mouth will bring to utter destruction at Har-meggedon.

1Jo 2:16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
1Jo 2:17 And the world passeth away, and the lust of it: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1Jo 2:18 Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist cometh, even now are there many antichrists; by which we know that it is the last time.
1Jo 2:19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

1Jo 2:21 I have not written to you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
1Jo 2:23 Whoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father.

1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1Jo 4:2 By this ye know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ hath come in the flesh, is from God:
1Jo 4:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not from God. And this is that spirit of antichrist, of which ye have heard that it should come; and even now already it is in the world.
1Jo 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1Jo 4:5 They are of the world: therefore they speak from the world, and the world heareth them.
1Jo 4:6 We are of God. He that knoweth God, heareth us; he that is not of God, heareth not us. By this we know the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

2Jo 1:6 And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, that as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
2Jo 1:7 For many deceivers have entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver, and an antichrist.
2Jo 1:8 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward.
2Jo 1:9 Whoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.
