i dont see how cofee can be compared to smoking. Smoking is a known cause of cancer etc, leading to death. Coffee is not. Infact i beleive there are studies that show a cup a day or something is actually good for you. Similar to alcohol or something.

Yea, except there is no way that alchohol is good for you? And also, for the record. Caffeine has been known to kill what with overdoses, withdrawls, and increased heart rates. Though, it's highly unlikely.

Chocolate is an interesting exception to the rule, although I rarely find both coffee and chocolate working well together. They are better as single entities.

How old am I? Well....

I'm old enough to know that Coffee and Chocolate are among the things that make life worth living. And I must agree that each may be more fully enjoyed when appreciated separately.

I'm way old... Old enough to have three kids who are now positive that they are teenagers. But I never quite got the hang of being all grown up, and I suppose it's far to late to start now.

Just got back from walkabout catching up on all the threads I've missed. I just had to make myself a nice strong pot of coffee whilst reading this one
Some days I drink coffee some days I don't. When I do I tend towards a strong Arabica made in a preheated cafetiere, and poured into a preheated small(ish) mug.
About 50% of the time I'll drink it the way "goddess Caffeinea" intended, Commando Style The rest of the time I use a soya creme alternative (called Elmlea).
I think I can hear a few people gagging out there, sorry 'bout that

I have heard about the red wine analogy, but to my understanding the alcohol doesn't compliment the 'wine' part, which is good for your blood stream.

i'm glad to hear that most of you don't like coffee....more for me

I drink A LOT of coffee. and i mean a lot! I must drink around 12 cups a day. weekends mean even more. i've gotten to the point to where caffiene doesn't really do anything to me anymore. but if i don't have at least 2-3 cups before going out into the real world, you wouldn't want to be around me for very long. tale tell signs of an addict right there. hahaha

i'm serious though, i drink way too much coffee. but besides tea and water, that's all i drink except for the occasional beer.

i like mine BLACK. As black as you can get it. Straight espresso....or what we call a "Black Eye" which is 2 shots of espresso and then filled with black coffee (usually something nice and strong like Konoa. That'll get ya rockin in the morning in a hurry

so all you keep NOT drinking coffee, because I am sure that I make up for some that don't.

and yes...it will give you one hell of a headache if you are used to it and don't get it.
