Topic awaiting preservation: A Real Dummy (Page 1 of 1)

Does anyone know of a site with tutorials for php and mysql for a real dummy?
I downloaded 30-40 meg of files to learn and when they started talking about communicating with mysql I was lost and deleted everything. Some sites talk about installing mysql or php... are they talking about installing on my computer or the server?
I'm just getting frustrated and ready to give up trying to learn. (

I also had a book called 'teach yourself SQL in 24 hours' which was an invaluable tool.

As to what is meant when they talk about installing php/mysql....depends on the tutorial. it is possible to install and run on your PC.

http://www.w3schools.com and http://www.php.net both have good beginner tutorials.
