A while back I was thumbing through some websites and I stumbled across one that had a pop up on the main page. The entire browser for this medium sized pop up had been fully customized. They had made it so no menu bar, scroll bar, location tab, or anything showed up and the 'x' button was a custom made graphic of theirs. I have long since lost this website but am wondering if anyone could point me to a website where I could learn how to do this. Any and all help is very much so appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Do you mean a real popup, or a DHTML simulation of a popup?

Microsoft allowed people to resize fullscreen popups before - if you resize a fullscreen window where you have removed all chrome you can, it doesn't have any chrome, title bar or menu bar, just the document area.

However, recent patches have made this impossible. You may no longer remove the title bar, the menu bar or the status bar from a window.

That's Gabriel Suchowolski and Mariano Klein made Chromeless windows popuplar. Nonetheless, liorean is right and you should be aware that since the WinXP SP1 that trick is not longer possible.

And good riddance. Too many spammers abusing it, just like pop-ups etc. Browsers are now more restrictive and some give users the option of not allowing the status bar etc. to be hidden, among other things. (Another plus for Mozilla - disallowing resizing/moving and focus/blur of windows.)

Thank you all very much for your replies to my questions. JK, your links were very informative and also very helpful as I have found what I had been looking for. Also thanks for informing me of the updates regarding pop-ups. Always good to know.
