I found this article by Ben Stein to be utterly centered and thought the majority of you might enjoy it as well, whatever your politics, religion or lack thereof.

I wholeheartedly agree with

quote:
I came to realize that life lived to help others is the only one that matters. This is my highest and best use as a human.

And I believe that this trancends all boundaries of religion, culture and politics.

The rest of the article...well, I am all for bringing the reality of what our men and women in uniform are going through to light and honoring them. I don't believe in god, so...that bit I have no comment on.

Thanks for posting JKMabry.

As with many such things, if you remove the references to god and to political affiliations, I agree wholeheatedly with what he had to say.

I agree with the basic message but I still think Ben Stein is an ass.

That was not the kind of article one gets to read every day. There is nothing wrong with being an actor or actress, it's just that our society has its priorities misplaced. I think his message on that was very true and I hope more people come to see it that way.

...and of course I can't help but be pleased with his political affiliation and his love of God. So this article hit a home run from my view.

as an aside... I was talking about this article yesterday with the guy that sent me the link and it turns out he had not seen the Ben Stein Republican and Al Franken Democrat Yahoo commercial. During this conversation I said their surnames back to back and realized that together they made FrankenStein. Happy Halloween
