Does anyone know how to Enable the editore in Fire Fox.
View | Page Source brings up the source, but i cannot change anything. Ditto for Tools : cuneAform and the Java Script debugger.

Thanks

andredj: Hello, and welcome in Asylum,

I know IE (mis)used us to be able edit the local web pages via its view source feature, but the name of the feature, View Source, is explicit. It is to view the source of a page, not to edit it. And actually, for local web pages, it's not a big deal since you generally have the page in question open in your editor of choice.

bitdamaged: oh, thank you. I had seen this extension but got puzzled by the textarea feature and didn't paid attention to the view source feature which could be turned into an edit source feature. Nonetheless, 3 applications are always open on my computer : ThunderBird, FireFox, and UltraEdit

andredj,

I know it's been said that this isn't supposed to be part of the "View page source" app that Firefox uses. I understand that. However, I'm with you in wanting this feature as descriibed. I like the HTML highlighting and think it would be great for basic editing/authoring. Did you ever find a good solution/extension/etc?

Mozex with a good source editor, like SciTE.
In general, though, I don't see the reason you want this. View-source functionality is not for editing, it's for quickly viewing the source, without having to load an advanced editing GUI. You're not able to actually change any online resource anyway, so it's typically pointless.
