Well, that's not really a surprise. The name of the replacement should give a strong hint of what to expect from W2.

It's not a surprise at all. Rumors that he would resign in the second term have been flying for quite a while now. He is a moderate and I don't think he gets along too well with Rummy.

Oh well, as long as it's not Dan Quail, we should be ok.

And this isn't helping things, either An internal war at the CIA from the Christian Science Monitor.

quote:
A public war between a president and his intelligence arm is never good news. But with the war against the insurgency in Iraq at a critical juncture, and Osama bin Laden making his ominous presence known, it is perhaps the worst of times for the Bush administration and its spies to be at odds.

I can't agree with that enough. And with colin Powell leaving, there goes a huge amount of war experience.

Oh, it's Condy.
Well, the things shouldn't really change during the next 4 years. The US foreign policy should remain quite similar at the exception that Condy agrees with GWB which was not really the case for Colin Powell. At least that's not Paul Wolfowitz.

Still, Secretary of Agriculture Ann M. Veneman, Secretary of Education Rod Paige and Secretary of Energy Spencer Abraham also resigned monday. And 2 more CIA spymasters ( Stephen Kappes, a Middle East expert who headed the clandestine service, and his deputy, Michael Sulick ) resigned
