... that must be squished!! Really no kidding. Recently me and me family moved to a new house. We'd been constructing one for sometime now. We were apparently told that the area where we are going has telephone lines, internet and bus services plus alot more. BUT!!!! On moving we haven't seen a bus stop for miles!! Oh great! Also now that we're here there aren't any telephone connections available 'at the moment', which in turn means *glup* no internet... ... ... ...

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

It's like being stranded on a deserted island!! I feel like the idiots in Survivor!!! It's like a 20 min drive to the nearest bus station and a further 15 min to the neearest Net Cafe... it's terrible!!! Even there all they have is crappy Windows 98 installed with IE 5... sheesh... I can't even buy cable net because it's not in the area yet! I feel like murdering that real estate agent who showed this forsaken land to us!!!

Now that you have heard my story... time for my question. Since all the net cafe and my college cafe has is IE 5 and niether one seem to have any interest in updating I cannot repeat cannot check my GMail. Now I am desperate I have a Yahoo Mail address and was wondering if it was possible to view my GMail email on Yahoo or (and I've just found out about this) GMail has started POP access. Is there a way to view email through POP 'online' and not through some software?? I know the question is weird but I'm desperate!

Help please somebody help I've got [b]really[b] important mails in there

some online mail accounts likemail.com allow you to link to POP accounts and check your mail from them too, give one of them a shot.

From the way your describing the location, I suppose wireless is out of the question.

Yes, Yahoo mail will let you check other POP email accounts.

(They charge you if you want to access your Yahoo mail from a POP client, but this should not affect you in what you want to do.)

And by the way, I don't understand the subject line - what does fate have to do with it? Do you believe that you were fated to end up in this situation?

YAHOO! To the rescue! That outta do the trick... but.... what the hell is the mail server?!?! What is it gmail.pop.com or gmail.google.com?? I managed to set GMail to start the POP thingy, went to me friends house and checked my mail there. I'm an idiot I know I should have set to divert all mail to Yahoo. Now I can't even go back me friends gone on vacation, somewhere north I think, for a couple of weeks.

And yes wireless is out of the question.

And yes I do think fate had a hand in this...
