I have been going nuts with my internet connection for a very long time. Well it seems the connection was not the problem. Yep it's been IE all along.

I have that light speed cable connection.. 5 times faster than a 28.8 I beleive is the claim. But no matter the site it's always been: "2 items remaining" " 1 item remaining'... F5 F5 Ctrl F5 x 10 or more. Just very very pathetic.

So after reading the various threads here I took the plunge...boom boom boom!

I'd deliberately been avoiding 'Big sig, Pong, Photography because I'd have to reload for each image...and well..that's just not fun. But here I am with FF and pages load...first time.

Good-bye ie.

Yes, Firefox won me as a total convert with the introduction of the Firefox final release 1.0... now all my browsing is done in Firefox and my mail is handled by thunderbird and I'll tell you what, I'm never going back.

I'll have to look into TBird. But lately I've been thinking about resurrecting my old eudora pro 4.
but I don't know anything about this 'legacy' stuff xp can supposedly handle.

When it gets down to it... OE probably pisses me off more than ie. but ya...me too...never going back. =)

While I'm here...and on a related note I'm wondering if you (anyone) can shed some light on this.

http://www.boutell.com/trackless/

I'm missing something here but can't see it. I've been using all the regular fare.... adaware...spybot etc. Where one misses... the other catches...and both go through lengthy scans. But this trackless thing, to me at least, seems better.

I've given it a less than scientific test by going to half a dozen sites.... run ada.... then back to the same 6 sites.... run spybot see what those 2 pick up... Compare them. Back to the same 6 run trackless.. then spybot & adaware and these 2 don't find anything missed by trackless. Thing is.... trackless does whatever it does in about 2 seconds. So what am I missing here?

I also loooooooove firefox, but firefox without the SessionSaver extension is not as good as I would like it. They don't have SessionSaver listed in the new extension room anymore, due to incompatibilities with the newer versions (0.9 and beyond), and the one listed in the old extension room is not compatible.

But, somewhere else, you can find a compatible one. The day I can't find a SessionSaver extension that can be installed and work in firefox, I will really get pissed off with it. I don't understand why such a handy and necessary functionality is not already built-in in firefox.
