Just got this from Welles at PSG.
Expressions was acquired by MS and is now free.
Vector based and looks pretty tasty.

I'll give it a go sometime this weekend.

I just downloaded it, but still some time before I install and play.

Had to get a .NET Passport to get it.
Then jump through some e-mail hoops.
A confirmation e-mail crashed my e-mail client. Funny, that.

Be sure to check the Resource links.
Some really tasty stuff in there to do with Expressions.

Yup it's a great program, I have been using it since it first came out in '97, when it was still Creature House.
One of the best features is skeletal brushes and wire frame mode, export to dxf....on and on.
Great effects.

Used to be Mac only, sad to hear MS gobbled it up

cheers,
Kromaz

Wow. I'm really liking it.

While I'm glad for being available for PC, the MS thing does have me a bit worried.
When installing, I noticed that the version is Expressions 3.3 Preview.
When running, the app background is stamped with 'Preview' all over the place.
Not sure what that means and I hate to speculate.

If something does happen, I'm going to enjoy it while I can.

You probably have a demo version that will include "Preview" plastered to the saved file.
Not pretty.
But it will give you a feel for the program.

Then again maybe not.

This fully funtionalbeta's been floating around for about half a year, since MS's acquisition. Don't be shocked to see it as part of a graphics suite, that will have Adobe and Corel scrambling off to the lab. It's a huge market and Billy-boy can't stand not having his (un)fair share of the pie. This is sure to further piss off the Mac'ers.

Does it do anything that Corel Draw or AI can't?
