Oh grow up and stop complaining about Blackhat's sigs. They aren't bothering you or anything else.

I haven't used FireFox in a while but when I did the only plugin I installed was the odd blockers, and the scroll wheel thing. It didn't work too bad but I prefere Safari.

Rinswind 2th: if Black Hat's link fiesta sig annoys you, customize your userContent.css to hide them

I try and keep my list to the bare minimum, it's seems pointless using a nice cut-down browser only to clog it up with dodgy 3rd party extensions, if I wanted that I'd use Opera!

ok, random question that i thought i'd throw in for you mac firefox users (rather than starting a whole new thread)...

i'm liking firefox a lot, almost enough to ditch safari. one thing is bothering the heck of me tho, and that's that i can't cmd + up arrow or down arrow to pop to the top or bottom of a long scrolling page (something i often use here at the asylum). is there a shortcut i'm missing?

Fig: I don't know for the Mac, but on Win, the common shortcut for that is SPACE, or SHIFT+SPACE. Or is effect of Cmd+up/down equivalent to that of the HOME/END keys ?

Fig: This is one of the reasons ff1.1 will be the major milestone for Mac, not ff1.0. Aquafication, platform standards (written and unwritten) conformance and HIG compliance are the main tasks on the list for ff1.1

Moz fails to comply with Mac standard shortcuts in a number of situations. Most likely, you'll find the functionality placed at the Windows/Linux equivalents. In this case, HOME and END have that functionality. SPACE and SHIFT+SPACE act to move one page view down and up, respectively, something that PGDN and PGUP also does. As a note, CMD+UP, CMD+DOWN act the standard Mac way in editable contexts, such as the textfield I'm currently writing in. In the same context, HOME and END do not work, neither the Mac (document relative) nor the Windows (line relative) way. CMD-LEFT and CMD-RIGHT do what they should, though.


Oh, just since I saw a lot of people mentioning it:
- Do you have the DOM Inspector in your extensions list? It isn't listed in mine but it's one of the tools available that I regularly use. Same with JavaScript Console, Page Info etc.

i was wondering about a lot of that liorean, thanks. i'd figured out that cmd-left and cmd-right worked but that was about it i'll check out the DOM inspector, thanks, i'm just getting up to speed with extensions now (and getting a lot of ones to check out from this thread). so far i've got ColorZilla, WebDeveloper (editing CSS inline and seeing live updates on a page i'm working on, awesome), and QuickTabPrefToggle.

It took a while before I noticed this feature. It checks all your currently loaded extensions for updates.

i have adblock, which i use to block all of BH's sigs.

also have IE view and web developer toolbar - essential for my web developing.

don't use color picker, because i have pixie.

I also use all-in-one gestures as a force of habit.

i also now have tinyURL extension back, which i love. (v1.0 compatible extension has been released!)

extensions are good, but there's one major problem with them - it leaves you incapacitated when you use someone else's FF! I can barely use a FF browser if i can't gesture my way thru it!
