"The President may deploy military force preemptively against terrorist organizations or the States that harbor or support them, whether or not they can be linked to the specific terrorist incidents of Sept. 11 [...] In the exercise of his power to use military force, the president's decisions are for him alone and are unreviewable."

It has the smell of dictatorship, the look of dictatorship, but it isn't a dictatorship yet

Lets be honest if he does go nuts "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" might be top of his list

Some days Blair climbing into Bush's back pocket seem like a bonus - at least it means he'll kick our ass last

"It has the smell of dictatorship, the look of dictatorship, but it isn't a dictatorship yet"

Yet? Well the same companies fund both candidates during elections, so basically, there isnt a dictator, just a monkey puppet and some rich companies. So it really just falls under whats your definition of dictatorship. On that note; Whats your definition of a Terrorist Nation?

Eitherway it certaintly isn't a true democracy over there.

I heard if Bush starts a war at the end of his term theres some law that keeps him in power untill its over so there won't be an election held. Anyone else hear something like that? It seems hard to believe, but its not surprising at the same time.

Not really supposed to be. We are a constitutional republic.

Not really that either though, anymore. What the hell are we? An Oligarchy?

I don't believe I've ever heard that law (can't even find the rumor), but I had a look around and there is a proposed bill out there to repeal the 22nd Amendment.

H. J. RES. 9 - Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Oh wait, here's another:

H. J. RES. 24 - Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the 22nd amendment to the Constitution.

Here is some background on that one.

Serrano and Hoyer, both Democrats, proposing amendments that would help Bush stay in office. Hmmm...

Such is the natural progression of governments; they seek only to absorb more power and control.

It can be seen (in simple economic terms) by peeking at the federal budget in historical perspective: http://www.harrybrowne.org/articles/Econom1.gif (I am not certain if figures have been adjusted for inflation, but the factor is minimal in the span of this graph)
