I don't know what to call this, thus the ambiguous thread title. Anyway, here's the situation. Yesterday I tried to edit a post I had made in a thread, but I forgot that we now have a time limit on edits. When I hit the save changes button, it told me that I could no longer edit the post and that I should go back and fix my changes. I hit the link that brought me back to the thread, but obviously I can't make the changes, so hitting the submit button had the same result. So I just went back to the forum and tried to click on the thread, but I was brought back to what I will henceforth refer to as the 'Ha! You're Screwed!" page. No matter what I did, I could not get back to the actual thread and post anything else. I eventually had to clean out all my cookies to get things back to normal.

Today I created a FAQ and then went back to edit it. When I hit the save changes button, I got a similar HYS page saying that someone was editing the page and no changes were saved. I'm not sure how this happened, because the FAQ was only about thirty seconds old and I doubt anyone was editing it, but the long and short of it is that I now cannot get back into the FAQ. Any attempts to visit the FAQ bring me to the HYS page. I'll go give it another shot after I post this, but I doubt I'll have any luck.

So, is this a glitch, or is it just something that plagues IE? And whatever the answer to that question is, how do I get around it? I really don't feel like having to clean out my cookies everytime this happens.

I can't say for sure, but this does sound like IE is having caching problems again. Usually Ctrl+F5 helps in these cases, as that loads the page fresh from the web even if IE has some version of it in its cache already.

I think I tried a hard refresh, but I can't remember now. Enough time has passed that I am able to access the page, but I'll try a hard refresh if this ever happens to me again.
