i want to calculate the remaining time of a renderjob.
say i have 100 frames to render and 3 machines workin on that.
machine A takes 3 minutes per frame, machine B 2 minutes and machine C 1 minute.
they all start at the same time.
how can i calculate the time it takes for all 100 frames to complete?

thanks!

Machine A 3 min/frame = 1/3 frame/min
Machine B 2 min/frame = 1/2 frame/min
Machine C 1 min/frame = 1 frame.min

(1 fpm + .5 fpm + .333 fpm ) x Z min = 100 frames

Z = 100 / 1.8333
Z = 54.5 minutes

just out of quick caculation you will be rendering 5 1/2 frames every three minutes, which means it will take you 54.55 minutes to render 100 frames

It'll actually take 55 minutes. 5.5 frames in three minutes 18 times over. gives you 99 frames rendered. The last fram still takes a full minute on the fastest computer.
