sorry to have to ask this cos i know it may sound stupid but how do u make pages that trigger downloads of things like images?

usually, you instruct your users to right-click and choose 'save-as'.
There are a couple of ways with tricked headers and the like - but none of them are reliable.

if u did that it just shows u the image dosent it, i think its humeros that u wer trying to insult my inteligence

Which means that you've downloaded it.
If you have viewed an image in your browser, it has been downloaded...

The question doesn't really make much sense, honestly. If you want someone to download an image, simply linking to it is the best way I've ever seen...

So resio was not insulting your intelligence, he was giving the best answer available to a poor question.

Personally, I would not include any instruction on saving the image - it has to be hoped that anyone interesting in saving an image from your site will know how to do so...
