Ok, I'm using Dreamweaver MX 6.0 (for some reason the 6.1 update won't install... dunno, it appears to be a common problem), this page http://www.annbeckett.com/testsite/sculptures.html looks just fine in Internet Explorer, but the template objects (table, background color, page info) don't show up in Firefox or Netscape.

I don't know enough about the code to see what's wrong. Care to take a look-see at Dreamweaver's code and tell me how I should adjust it to work properly?

All the requisite files are in that folder, so it ought to work...

Basic HTML page, supposed to be XHTML 1.0 compliant based on the preferences... once day I'll venture into CSS...

Thanks for your insight!

You are missing the # in the bgcolor attribute values.

instead of bgcolor="F5F3E7" you should have bgcolor="#F5F3E7"

That's what I thought, but changing that code didn't allow the template information to appear in either Firefox or Netscape... weird.

(sorry it took me a couple of days to get back - vacations are strange times...)

I may just have to ditch the templates and do each page individually, but damn that will take a lot of time...

it changes them. add the hash mark "#" to ALL the bgcolor's. Just tested it an it works fine. Change the body's top margin to 0 to get it to butt up against the top of the window though.

get rid of that freakin dreamweaver though. and the tables..........that page would be super simple to lay out with css. plus the code would be just about nothing.

Later,
