A classic indeed. But it still works.
I'm always amazed by the phlegm of the people working nearby.

Poi: are you a francophone? Surely you mean "flegme" which is French for cool or calm.
"Phlegm", on the other hand is the disgusting gunky brownish, yellowish, greenish slime that slithers out of your lungs, runs down your throat, and out you mouth...particulary when you have pneumonia.

non?

ZaddyDog: Welcome in the Asylum,

As the infos in the Author cell says, I'm from France. Donc oui, je suis francophone.
When writing my post I checked Dictionary.com: phlegm for the orthograph. It can have a medical meaning, but in every other case it means utterly cool whatever happen.

Poi: thank you for the welcome..merci.

You are right..i was very surprised to see that phlegm can also mean "cool" in English.
It's quite amusing when you think of it though, because there is nothing cool about this pus-like substance.

I remain confident, as well, that to compliment someone on their phlegm in English would certainly have them raise their eyebrows!

Wow. Learn something new every day.

Trust me, ZD is right: phlegm may list more than one meaning, but only the first one counts!

Great. Now I'm going to have to use it more often.
"The kids are monsters and driving me nuts. They need more phlegm."
Um, yeah.

Fun stuff but funnier yet are the co-workers who don't even bat an eye.
