All the previous iterations of my webpage have been built around some sort of template system or another (thanks Gurus!). Anyone here use templates to make editing their page easier? Do you prefer SSI, Perl, PHP, or even maybe javascript or python? I've switched between SSI and PHP mostly but neither seem to satisfy Just curious what you guys are using and why.

Why? Power, flexibility.

Why has PHP not satisfied?

php or smarty in combination with include statements
however, smarty is a template engine built on php so... php

That covers everything I need...

I wish, but I also expect. There are two things that Microsoft would have to do to continue to compete:

  • Stop asking for money for their products
  • Stop making horrible, crap products

...I doubt they'll ever attain either, so I expect.
