What's the best way I can take a logo I've created in photoshop and get it ready for print? If I knew what I was doing I would have just created it in Illustrator in the first place but sadly my few skills resid with photoshop.

Thanks for doing footwork for my lazy butt I read through most of that faq and I'm wondering why when I try Jeni's approach (6th post down) everything looks great except for the text...? Shouldn't the text layers save over as text? Thanks

I have'nt read those faqs , but if you have your logo graphic without the text @ 300 dpi
I would just import or place the PSD file into Illustrator, add your text, convert the text to outlines or curves and save it out as a tiff @300 dpi and should be fine for print.
Actually it's not necessary to convert the text to outlines if saving as a TIFF, use the curves or outline option if you don't want to include the fonts with the Illustrator file to the printer.

I just finished a CD package using this method and found the best way for me was to create the
graphics in PS or 3d apps save as hi-res tiff at least 300dpi, place it into Illustrator and create the text.
Turned out great.
But for logos, I usually start and end all in Adobe Illustrator, that way it is resolution independant.
and will cover most print requirements.

Hi - in photoshop you can also convert the magic wand selection directly to vector paths and then export the paths for illustrator, I do it all the time to get shapes out in vector format fairly quickly without redrawing and I agree with kromaz re-create any text in illustrator.
