Ok, I've googled til I'm blue in the face and can't seem to locate any resources for developers designers who want to develop content for cell phones. More specifically I want to know all of the standard cell phone screen sizes and resolutions. Any help is much appreciated!

Wow, it has to be hard to make content with the screens all being different sizes...

I don't know how it works, but I've got the feeling they only care about the resolution, not the size of the screen. I've got a phone with a big screen and I was really happy about, until I noticed the resolution's crap.
Does this make any sense? Regardless to the fact I am not really helping you...

Are there really any standard resolutions for cellphones?

No, everything is per phone and manufacturer as far as I can tell. Currently one of the best screen resolutions is made by Sharp, they use a 240 x 320 resolution and the screens are some of the biggest too, problem is Sharp phones only come with Vodafone contracts.

I did some wireless WML development a bunch of years ago, and back then we didn't have these fancy color gigs.

There was a website that I used, I can't rember what it was, but it allowed you to write you code, and then it would mock up the content in a number of different phone types so you could see exactly how it would display on the different models.

I am sure if you search a bit you can find something like that.

Well I just found out that for the project I'm working on I only have to design for the Trēo 600. That simplifies things greatly for me.

Hrmmm, you should be doing that for normal websites just seen on a computer monitor.

I remember seeing something like that too, and I'm sure there are a number of such sites floating around. However, a quick googling turned up a free desktop WAP emulator. Maybe this will help, Boudga.

[edit: You can also just try googling for "cell phone browser emulator"--this seems to bring up a lot of stuff, some of which may be helpful.]
