I think there might be an issue with slimes in links. There was a link posted here http://www.ozoneasylum.com/25888 the link to google which has :o in the URL and the URL really got screwed up. I have since turned of slimes for the post, but it is something that shouldn't happen.

I remember editing a post and not being able to disable smilies, but it must've been a fluke.

I remember posting a smile and not being able to edit my disabilities, but it must've been a surreal fluke.

I'll investigate - but it might be a major issue with the slimie handling.. oh well. I'll figure something out.

Not being that familiar with the code as it currently stands (I can't remember when the last time I synched with the subversion server), I'll ask: why not simply find the enter phrase (space to space) that the slimy is part of an anayse it to see if it contains the opening and closing URL tags? If so, don't replace, otherwise, do. This kind of thing is already being done for code clocks, I believe, so how difficult would it be to expand it to cover URL tags too?

because the real thing to do is not to interpret something as a slimy if it's not 'stand-alone'. With standalone being followed by any of End-of-text,',', '.', ' ', '!'.....

The problem does not lie within [url] tags - it lies within auto-parsed urls (starting with http:// or www.)

Well, if you process the auto-parsed URLs before the slimies then you will find interpretable tags around them and what I've suggested will still stand.
