...why is it that when one edits one's profile and hits 'Save Changes', it counts +1 on the post count? It means that as I've been playing around with my sig and trying out various combinations (hitting 'Save Changes' each time), I have been inadvertently increasing my post count. Should this be?

Something else occurred to me that would be ideal for reducing the number of double posts and last-minute edits - PREVIEWS! Would it be particularly difficult to add preview capabilities to potential posts? It would save morons like me from a lot of re-edits based on the fact that a ']' was missed...

...and I've only just noticed that the {small} tags can be stacked. Probably not news to anyone, but I think it is pretty cool! Yes, I realise how apt the phrase, "Small things please small minds"...

post counts: because it was the easiest way to implement them. Actually, they're 'login counts' - they get incremented every time the asylum identifies you, and therefore also count for faqs and the like.

Preview: Well. No. One button is all you should need down there. This is an Asylum after all.

Preview? Who needs to preview, thats why such things as F1_edit exists.
So that when I mess up like this &umml; when I really wanted ü I can go back and fix it.

F1_edit: making the fix.

I like the idea of a preview. I also agree with Tyberius Prime

quote:
One button is all you should need down there. This is an Asylum after all.

So here's what I think we should do:

Rather than have a Submit Reply button the button should be a Preview button which will take you to a preview of the post. Now since most of us are lazy and don't bother to proof read our posts before sending them, sending the post to a preview page will force some of us to read the post befor submitting it, but that won't work for all, so the preview page should also have a Prevew button at the bottom which will take the post to a second preview page. This will force more people to read their posts before submitting them, but again, this second preview page should have a preview button at the bottom which will take the post to a third preview page.

After previewing the post three times, people will either give up and not send the post (which will save a lot of worthless reading for the rest of us) or the post will be completely free of errors.

(All right, whose bright idea was it to prevent double posts and force me to fool this thing?)
