I ran into some old music of mine... just wondered what some of you may think of it. I wrote/recorded this song sometime in 1999, I think. Strange listening to my "old self". CLICKY

That's pretty damn good; it reminds me a lot of these old '70s folk-country records my dad has.
It's definitely something I could listen to. On the more negative side: it's a bit trite (especially with the indie-folk revival, of late) and the drumming isn't too impressive (however that isn't the point, is it: it just stood out).

I love the crisp, hard-edged yet tender quality to your voice.

[Edit: actually now that I think about it: reminds me a bit of Smashing Pumpkins plays Nick Drake. (That's a compliment).]

I think it sounds awesome !! I agree with CFB about your voice. The whole mood of the song is somewhere relaxing and sombre to listen to.

If that is your OLD self, do you have anything by your new self ? Would love to listen to more of your work.

No Sig ?

Thanks!

I agree with you there... I can actually drum but because I only have 1 mic (don't laugh) it's near impossible to record a drum session that sounds half decent. So I used the keyboard drums.

Unfortunately no. I still write music all the time, I just don't have time to record these days. I am hoping to start again this year if I can get some money saved up for some updated (or real) recording equipment. Thanks again for the kind remarks, peace.

I like the sound, I like the lyrics, I like the whole mood.... but I kept waiting for it to get heavier.

I think if it were heavier, it would be very marketable. Although its still impressive as it is.
