I like how the web can be used as a medium for amateur cartoonists to get their work noticed by normal people without having to deal with a middle-man.

My two favorites right now:

White Ninja: www.whiteninjacomics.com - Give this one a chance, some of them are bad but there are some real gems here and there. Updated every Tuesday and Saturday.
A couple recent ones I enjoyed: http://www.whiteninjacomics.com/comics/camp.shtml , http://www.whiteninjacomics.com/comics/question.shtml . There are better ones too.

Perry Bible Fellowship: http://cheston.com/pbf/archive.html - Some really funny stuff here. Many of them start off cute and then draw their humor from bringing the cute situation into the real world. Some are adult-oriented. Updated every Sunday.
A couple good ones: http://cheston.com/pbf/PBF002ADQPIInterview.html , http://cheston.com/pbf/PBF015ADFreakingVortex.html

Excluding cartoons that can be found in newspapers, what's your favorite cartoon strip on the web?

I used to be a huge fan of http://sinfest.net/
I haven't read it in a long time though.

Thanks for the links. I'm gonna check out White Ninja.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Penny Arcade yet. Well, maybe it's a bit too well known to be considered "amateur."

Anyways, I find wulffmorgenthaler consistently hilarious (and sometimes explicit). Again, not really "amateur" since it's featured on the front page of k10k. Hmm, I really should read more obscure webcomics...

There's no law that says obscure automatically equals cool (even though a lot of people do tend to think this).

I also used to follow Sinfest regularly. In fact, I just started reading it again recently. I usually go through cycles where I catch up on all the comics I've missed, then I forget about it again... lather, rinse, repeat.
