Things are slowly coming along. I'm almost to the stage where I kick my self for poor decisions. It's a learning process. Also got two volunteers that are going to help with some things.

Technical Slop Wiki

Short-term disaster taken care of.
Long-term badness about to rear its ugly head.
Wish me luck.

Thanks for the heads-up about the e-mail. Found it in my trash. One of these days I'll look into making some rules instead of relying on my eyeballs so much. And reply sent.

Photoshop things are going a bit slow because I'm still fighting certain things in my life. Hopefully it will be over soon.

I finally got CS Displace 2D the way I want. The older version had a fatal flaw and it took me awhile to figure out what it was, then I had to think about how to fix it. The flaw was in manipulating two different channels in two different colour spaces. Once I clamped things down to a single colour space, it was working the right way. Kudos.

CS Displace 2D

Still working on getting tutorials around. However, if you understand Displace, you should be able to understand CS Displace 2D. Or maybe not since I did go a little over-board and because of screen coordinates.

Personally, I totally adore CS Displace 2D. It allows me to manipulate 2 things at once in a way that I understand. In the hap-hazard node, the example is Lum and Sat, which I have the hardest time doing seperately with stock tools.

Note: I used to call the space that Photoshop uses HS/Lum. I've decided to start calling this space HsY. I was talking to a guy in Germany about this and I liked his reasoning. So, I'm going to be making the change.

I think our connection problem has been fixed. If you ever beta test an MTA for VoIP, apparently order of hardware can make a difference.

Something else I've been messing with:

Lum Frequencies

Somebody was kind enough to do recursive Gaussian for FM. I can't believe how wicked fast it is. An huge image with a huge radius takes less than a second on my machine. Something like 1200x1200 @ 512 (huge for me) is absolutely whizzer. Perfect opportunity to do some of the frequency junk that I've been dying for.

PC/Win and all that jazz.

More work on Lum Frequencies. A few extra do-hickeys and what-not. Still a bit more to go with the little things.

One thing I'm really digging it for is pre-processing before artsy-fartsy.

More work on Lum Frequencies. Filter download updated, but haven't edited node to reflect changes. I'm sure you'll figure it out and I'm sure I'll get to editing one of these days.

Nearing the end of Lum Frequencies. Made some vast improvements.
Beta 2 should be good to go.

My first Lab specific filter. All the rage thanks to Dan. Can't people do things on their own without being prompted? Uh oh, I feel a rant coming on.

Lab mode is good, but the tools are so lacking. So I did my own version of Levels that is geared towards Lab mode. Only manipluates a and b, so it's minor. But don't be fooled.

Yes, Lab mode - will not work in RGB.

- First two sliders are offset sliders, basically colour balance along ab
- Next four sliders are 'saturation' sliders and only work for the given half of given ab
- Last two sliders are post post-colour balance like the first two

Having two sets of offset sliders may seem redundant, but order of operations is important.

I threw in some visual aides so that the sliders should be easier to understand at glance.

If you try it, let me know how the Preview updating works for you. If it bogs down for too many, I'll take out and offer a seperate download.
