hey inmates

i am looking for a nice and free calendar software. can you recommend me any? i tried this, but its not really what i want. i am looking for something small which doesnt use that much system resources and is still always running in the background. (i.e. that i can open it with just one mouseclick immediately)

got any ideas?

Here's what I'm using:

-The Thunderbird extension sunbird to manage the calendar
-a web dav server
-phpical to display it on the web.

Works well, though of course you can't edit the calender from the web - but I can live with that.

so long,

Did Doc ever make his calendar app available?

From what I recall it was pretty sweet.

I used to use Rainlender but then switched to the PIM widget with the Yahoo Widget Engine (this is basically the same as the Mac dashboard app) That's tied Outlook which I use for work. Main reason for the switch was that the widget engine gives me more apps to work with, with less overhead.

Note you can also combine this with Yahoo! Calender to get a web based interface for this.

Haven't looked at the calendar but there's a lot of interesting stuff here... http://freeware4u.com/modules/mydownloads/ especially in the utilities.... particularly http://www.sysinternals.com/index.html which you get to from freeware. Look under Nov.28 for "Four Sysinternals..."

I use webshots. I disable the screen saver and use my onw photos for the wallpaper, and I always have a celendar on my desktop, with the last two months and the next two months displayed along with the current month, up in the top right corner of the screen.
