Hi there,

i was wondering if any of you guys/girls has ever confronted the nvidia 60hz problem and has come up with a solution for it?
It consists basically in the fact that when you start a full-screen, game-like, direct3d or openGL application the display mode switches to 60hz, no matter which frequency you had set before. There were several programs to solve this in windows 2000 and previous, and there are even some that claim to solve it in windows xp - this is my OS.

These last, are very outdated, because they claim no longer to be necessary, since nvidia has made available an option in the graphic card's control panel that locks the screen's frequency. That option i couldnt find, anywhere in the control panel. I'm running driver 81.95 (most current to date).

Thanks in advanced

maybe you mean "Vertical Sync", which forces the application to have the same refresh rate than the monitor.
you can find it under "Performance & Quality Settings"->"Global Driver Settings"->"Vertical Sync"

i usually have it set to "Off".

well, my main problem has been crimson skies.
i got it recently. It only runs in compatibility win98 mode. Then it offers me to chose between software rendering or hardware AGP rendering (my graphic card is actually PCIE)

In game text fonts don't show up properly (unreadable) and the game crashes after a while. I figured the two events relate to the graphic card.
