Original Art. Any medium. Paintings, Sculpture, Carvings, Jewelry, Drawings, Sketches, Cartoons - anything you consider 'art' (eye of the beholder and all that).

The "Catch" is you should know the artist. Not a hard and fast rule, preferable tho' - but at the top of the list.. "Original."

I'm not looking for what you have done but rather, something you have in your house/backyard...that's been created by someone you know.

A few words about your artist friend/aquaintance would also seem appropriate.

oops almost forgot... the artist is a friends grandmother.

That sure is exotic stuff that your friend's grandmother's done.

The sketch below was done by our son. He would be a bit embarrassed that I posted up such a work because he is quite a proficient artist. The work, click for larger image, was a little card that he made us for our 31st wedding anniversary. It just feels like such a great compliment to us that he sees our happiness and responds to it. We have a house full of artwork, of many genres, that we love, but this card has pride of place.
