Am I going to get in trouble for this;

quote:

Warning: mysql_pconnect(): Lost connection to MySQL server during query in /home/.anonkablender/grailgod/ozoneasylum.com/shared/grailapi.php on line 72
Could not connect to the database

LOL just as I wrote a witty answer on webhosts and mysql_pconnect() I got the error myself

I've been chewed out for having mysql_pconnect() as a nnon-used option in my code by a hosting admin once...

Well, back in the day the grail was set up, dreamhost charged you 25 queries for every mysql_connect() you made,
so we used mysql_pconnect().

And honestly: The server 'going away in the middle of a query' has nothing to do with how you connect, only with it being fubared ;-).
