Is it real?
Is it possible?

Nothing special to install aside Java1.4.2+, and you get real OpenGL scenes for the web?
The "JOGL" project aimed at this, and did miracles in term of binding OpenGL to Java, but I can't tell, I have so many applications, drivers,
versions of Java, and other bull. on my computer that I can't tell for sure.

My machine is a development environment, not good for testings things like... this:
https://jogl-demos.dev.java.net/applettest.html

If it really works on your system, and doesn't prompt you for "granting special privileges" or stuff of that kind,
then this is the holy grail.

'This page contains both secure and insecure objects'.

'A signed applet requests additional privileges' in Opera
(followed by 'applet crashed' when I said no.)

And no applet in my ie, I fear ;-(.

Sigh, it was too good to be true.

Applet crashed can be understood btw, it was asking for access to your hardware and you denied it, so it doesn't know what to do next
(granted, this error could have been handled).
Secure and insecure objects suck. I guess it is because of the way it references the JOGL mechanism, in the HTML code itself.

Still, I can do nifty things with that binding... it is not new, but unlike other implementations of accelerated 3d for Java,
it includes shaders and extensions of modern versions of OpenGL (the things that make games like Doom 3 look so good).

Most of the demos work on my pc: they are ports of Nvidia applications, and actually work better than the original implementations
(better extension detection or something of that kind).

Will give it a whirl sometime soon.
