i have a debian testing machine and would like to get a Netgear W311 wireless adapter to work.
so far i have tried the madwifi and the linux-wlan-ng drivers but without success.

does anyone have any tips or hints how to get the wlan to work?

I use Ubuntu, but I believe it's related to Debian, to get my wlan card working I used ndisWrapper with the windows drivers, there's loads of information about ndisWrapper on the net, let me know if you need more info.

Did the exact same thing (ndiswrapper) on my debian install to get a d-link card going.
I still have some wierdness, ex, I can never auto boot the wlan, I have to su to run ifup wlan0 that often do not work, then I go into /etc/network/interfaces and comment out the wireless_mode save and do ifup wlan0 again, then it's up instantly.

The next boot it's the same... No idea why thoguh I'll just blame D-Link

hmm weird, I did have some problems getting it to auto boot when I installed my drivers for teh first time, but I did find a way around it, there's an Ubuntu Wiki entry that I followed through and it got it all working for me
