...what's up with the gn? Out of interested curiosity. Just wanted to show Steve's superb displacement maps tutorial to someone, and it wasn't there.
Many things don't seem to be there anymore.

Yeah, please do post any links to, or just names of, tutorials you think might have gone missing - they're all there, somewhere. Hope we'll get things a little more (or perhaps rather less??) organized soonish. =)

Steve's displacement filter tutorial was hiding here:

http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photography/photoshop/

and I have now also added it to

http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/two_d/photoshop/essential_techniques/

so it will show up right under 2D -> Photoshop as well.

Cool. I kinda went "gosh - oh no" at first (and got some mysql errors when using the search box). I can start to breathe again then...

I don't even like mentionning it, but.. I see loads of good ideas there, in the revamp and all, but lots of
what was accessible is not anymore and it lacks maintenance.

Only thing is: it's the work of volunteers, can't complain, but it is and has always been useful and important to it's audience.
And I am the first who never thought I would "need" the GN, but I do really need lots of things in it.

Think it filled a niche, gave deep concepts and an expertise which is hard to find anywhere else.
And that keeping the forum alive there is excellent, but not enough, unlike the Asylum.

Can't whine, can't blame anyone, can offer helping hands and open the discussion.
