Your thoughts about it?

I hear a few US States have banned it. I honestly dont think the states are acting in a reasonable fashion, then again this could become another distraction nationwide to take people away from gas and war. I just wondering what every thinks of the plant.

The plant itself? Fine, and pretty to look at, too. It being a legal hallucinogen in the US? I can't see where that would be a problem anywhere.

Have smoked it before, wont do it again, VERY harsh to get down.
fun trip if your into that kinda thing, thought i met god, who was a monkey and he took me on a tour of the solar system... or something like that all in the space of about 5 minutes hehehe

legal or illegal? it doesnt matter, if people really want to do this drug they are going to find it somewhere. banning it isnt going to make a difference

I put in the same class as psilocybes, mescaline and other spirit plants.
Put what you want in your body but salvia takes you way inside and drugs like that require some caution and respect.
I would put it outside of the recreational field of drugs, to be used wisely, it is called the sage of the diviners after all.
You only get one mind.

I've used it a few times, never enough to break through, or lose complete mental control. It's a lot like other such divining, natural drugs in that the experience isn't neccesserely pleasant, it's interesting and introspective and fulfilling, but different in that the trip takes complete control of your body.

The most memorable time I smoked a small bowl in two hits, held it in for 30 seconds, and after about 30 seconds blew the smoke out. Except I didn't feel it on my throat but my entire body. All the sounds around me felt like they entered and interacted with my body, and I felt the texture of my evironment. After about 15 to 20 minutes I came down and realized where I was, sitting on my porch with two people still holding my pipe.

Perhaps something to experiment with? Who knows exactly.

I don't see any harm in it, it's not a recreational drug, and you can't use it just to get fucked up on a Friday night.

Another thing, about psychedelic drugs in general. Many people say they are "enlightened" after the experience. In my opinion, the truths they reveal should be achieved without the drugs, or the drugs should potentiate your knowledge. The common sentiment "drop out, turn on" seems absolutely ridiculous to me; you can't think properly when influenced by drugs. Some poeple are more sensitive to their spirituality.

Wasn't it McKenna who said "drugs are for those who can't think for themselves?" Or perhaps someone else. Hoffman?

For the record, the phrase 'tune in, turn on, drop out,' had nothing to do with thinking under the influence of drugs. Even if it was spoken by Leary.
