For some reason I had a tough time looking for a topic this month. I like to put more thought into these things, but this month I've been unable to.

Great topic. Here is my wip. I decided to try something in blender since I've just started fooling with it. I want to make a candle stick with a flame for animation. I'll more than likely drop the floor. Having trouble with the wood on my table but hopefully I'll stumble on a how to.

I think I got the wood texture a bit better. Let's see how the gif looks.

At0mic, for a more realistic look, use a different texture map for the legs, on a wooden table the grain generally run's vertically on the legs where you have the grain running horizontally. also looking at my wooden table i'm sitting at, its more of a matt finish, not so shiny how ever maybe your going for a highly polished antquie look.

mas, I recon the weapon theme is more than a coincidence =)
The work on the weapons is top notch too, great concept well executed.

OlssonE, I like the chessboard and prefer the smaller one, but I guess your nick is hard to see at that size. Have you tried to place you name running down one of the sides instead of the squares? you might have more space there. Good work on the wood.

At0mic_PC, I agree the second version looks better. The wooden table look good but I think your name needs something, perhaps by changing the colour slightly so it stands out from the table top. Also the white highlight on the text is a little too bright perhaps, I'm not too sure but it might benifit from toning down a touch. I've not used Blender at all, it looks like you have got the hang of it quickly. The candle animation sounds interesting too.

I quickly became board with doing this but really excited about something else. Unfortunately it's a lot more complex than adding the single flame. It's put on the back burner until I get skilled enough to do it. So I was going to make a battle hammer and had it almost done when I checked the boards. No matter I'll still make it but not submit it in this thread.
