I just got Premier and am totally lost. All I need to do is open a MPG file and trim some from the beginning and end, leaving the desired center cut. I had hoped it would be fairly easy to find the section I want from a time line, but I can't figure out what the heck to do.

First tip: Get Sony Vegas... hehe.... it's a much much easier application for just about anything video.
I've tried using Premier myself but there were always extra steps involved in the most basic stuff....

In vegas it would be as easy as, insert element to timeline..... click on the right edge...... drag..... done.

Vegas did the trick, thank you! When I get some time to "play" on the computer, I'll give Premier another try. Below is the footage of me racing at Willow Springs International Raceway earlier this month. Camera is a Sony Cyber-shot and car is a 400 BHP Evo.

Fun stuff there Wavm. Just wondering tho' why can I hear what sounds like wind... but no engine noise? What speed are you hitting on long straight?

The wind noise pretty much cancels out the engine noise as the windows are all down and the camera is mounted on the rear deck. On the front 1/2 mile straight I hit 135mph, on the back straight passing the vette and porsche I was doing about 120 mph.
