Everytime I try to open 'My Computer' or any folder for that matter either by desktop or startmenu all the icons and the taskbar disappear for a brief second and then return back to my screen. And My Computer is still not opened.... At this point I have to access it through mozilla by typing in C:\ in the address bar in order to bring everything up.

Man, last time I tried to guide Insider for 40+ posts through troubleshooting his PC. We came to the conclusion
a virus was bugging him, he was to reformat. A few weeks later...

At this stage, my IT experience screams:

Eggs. Full of proteins, and they do taste good with coffee indeed.
Let's google "toasts+motherboard" while we're at it. . .

Found a tut about hacking sandwiches. Am stuck on the "plug sandwich to paralle port" bit. More news later.

I'm glad to see the guide uses brown sauce, as is right and proper!

Not that I eat eggs but it was a spot on topic (not) and very cool tutorial

It did bring aout a lot of laughs at work when I tossed it around on icq.
Gems like that really makes the last day before 4 weeks of vacation (after an endless stream of 11-12 hour days) a lot more fun
Thanx /D

@Blaise, there is a better version of the tut, in french, make sure you browse the whole site, it cracked me up.
@DMS, man, just handed this audacious, fuzzy logics automod report - knowing it works and is "right" but the teacher could miss the whole purpose.
Am in for my first senior consulting assignments next week, and will be working - again - tomorrow night, so, as you said... spot on, time to blow a fuse.

@btw, I am not sure, but the original posting of this egg recipe may be courtesy of krets.

Sigh... I am too kind.
Okay InsIder, I was, and am, celebrating a series of real world successes, so yeah, for once I am on delirious mode for *fun*
because life is not only about computers.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, you should lighten up, really.

Last time, I've spent some time trying to help you save an unstable system.

Now, I'll only ask those three questions, and that's the closer to "real troubleshooting" you'll get from me:
- did you get rid of the previous problem?
- did you try security measures like running a virus scan?
- did you try backuping/formatting/starting on a new, clean state?

If the answer to one of the above questions is "no", why bother asking again?

If you can't take the plunge and track down the cause yourself, or simply remove it by taking drastic measures, it's 100 more difficult for us to do it remotely,
and you can sit there, watch your computer degrade, and post the "take my hand and do miracles" thread 10 or 20 more times without getting an appropriate solution.

...or you can get creative about it, and fry stuff!
