I discovered a game ( demo is free ) called "Spheres of Chaos".

There is an in depth description over at jayisgames.com ( as well as a download link), but to sum it up:

Asteroids on LSD.

The controls are a bit icky, but hey, it's definatly trippy

groovy. I'll give this a go when I get home. My poor work laptop would just choke on this I think
