Who is with me?

Seriously. I've been on this thing since version 6, when i switched from PaintshopPro. That was one of the first things i noticed about PS, the bad antialiasing. And it didnt change at all.

So there, i've said it.

Every time i look at an image, i can always see if it was made with photoshop or not. Seriously, even plain old windows does a better job at antialiasing fonts for instance.

Plus, i'm a bit sick of being forced to Macintosh my way around my PC every time i open PS - a proper mouse has two or three buttons, not 1!
From magazine reviews it doesn't feel that "superior" anymore. Finally it is definitely bloatware. Everything Adobe is bloatware. I've realized that since i started using Foxit Reader for .pdf's instead of Acrobat.

I'm considering changing back to PSP.

This was just a rethorical brainstorm.

I now consider photoshop as a program which obscures functionality in a way to force the creation of an elite photoshop user community. It's a win-win relation. Elite users get to feel knowledgeable. Adobe makes sure they can't use other programs, and then it actually sells it to the companies they will or do work for. Casual image editing users are then recommended to use the trimmed down version.

And maybe i'm a bit unsatisfied because they Adobe bought Macromedia. This globalization thing has its whatnots.

Photoshop has never been for the "casual image editor".
I can't imagine why a causual user would pay $600+ for a piece of software

There are very clearly a great many applications out there for the casual user....and a handful for the serious user. From your own words it is clear which one Photoshop is....so I can't see what there is to gripe about

FWIW...

(and btw...I use my right mouse button in PS all the time )

Yep, it takes years to know PhotoShop.
If I were to rant it'd be about using bicubic interpolation by default. It sucks.

There's 5 type of text AA, what else do you want ? Ok, it could be nice to be able to use different type of AA in the same text layer.

As for the mouse, what else do you want to do with it than regular point and click or drag'n drop actions ?
I personnaly only use it to drawing or move things around. I NEVER use the mouse to access a menu or select a tool. It's keyboard shortcut all the way, even to change values. I think I only use the right click with the Move Tool to select a specific layer.

When it comes time to look at edges and anti-aliasing, I *always* make sure my zoom is 50% or 100%.
