I?m on IE7. You can see the text within the list The JS lifted from http://onlinetools.org/tools/domcollapse/

Can't seem to find another solution that will give me the same effect on the lists without using absolute positioning.. Maybe a float...

Any ideas on how to overcome this

ok fixed this by using a floated <label> within the list items.
