Web Designer / Developer - Web 2.0 Next-Gen Mobile Services - contract Job in london? [320GBP per day]


This is an unmatched opportunity to work on the next generation of PC / Mobile locational e-commerce platforms, which includes product and location recognition via a phone camera photo.

You will: Design a dynamic content management and advertising placement platform, Implement tools for analyzing user behaviour which will generate custom web content based on business requirements, location, trends etc. Import XML-based 3rd party content into existing live Internet sites, Categorize content according to location using map-editing software, Organize web servers optimized for selected use cases, Prototype portals and prepare for customer tests, Write integration scripts to interface with databases.

The position requires excellent knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Flash CS3, HTML/xHTML content generation, common scripting languages (esp. PHP, AJAX and [Unobtrusive] JavaScript), XML, video/audio streaming, techniques for data mining/categorization & databases and ideally Java, Linux administration, mapping tools and software (MapPoint, NavTeq, Tele Atlas, etc.), script programming (e.g. Perl and VB), programming in C and VB.

You will also need excellent graphics design skills and portfolio of previous high-quality projects. Areas of interests: Web 2.0, creative graphics design, HTTP and TCP/IP, web servers (Apache), databases (MySQL / Oracle), data mining and data organization.

Requirements:
Strong background in web design/engineering and business-oriented data mining, university degree, significant experience with large real-life Internet services. Prior experience in launching and designing commercial web properties. Willigness to travel. Proactive and highly motivated. Ability to meet tight deadlines.

Competencies:
Demonstrated ability to build new Internet services and advertising platforms and integrate 3rd party content into existing live Internet sites, Internet site design, mobile web site setup, proficient with common tools for Internet content, testing of web sites. Strong appreciation of consumer needs and business opportunities required.

Also excellent design skills are a must. E.g. designed some commercial web-sites before.
Expert level knowledge of Adobe Flash CS3 and Adobe Photoshop are a must too.

Technologies:
- Must: Skilful to develop web portals for PC and mobile using different web development technologies and tools. (X)HTML, JavaScript, PHP, Ajax
- Must: Skilful to develop web statistics and reports (information stored in DB) using suitable web technologies and/or reporting tools
- Nice to have: Mobile streaming from content transcoding and technology point of view
- Nice to have: Apache and/or Jboss management and development skills
- Nice to have: Python, Java and C++ coding skills

This part of the project is done in London but the project itself is global. Currently the project visibility is at end of the year but most probably will continue longer.
